Welcome to this month's ICS Blog Hop. If you've popped over from Anastasia Radloff's blog, didn't she have a lovely project! If you are starting at my blog, Stamping the Cape, thank you!
As the title explains, this month we were challenged to feature at least one of our fabulous punches. I may have gotten a little carried away as I've used nine different punches but, all the projects feature a new punch from the Holiday Catalog - the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch (CBBP for short).
The outline of the CBBP made me think of footsteps. At first I toyed with the idea of making a magnifying glass and creating a saying like "Where have you been?" using the Make A Difference or Labeler Alphabet stamp set but looking through my stamps I noticed the sentiments in the Sorry for Everything stamp set and thought this too would work perfectly. I hand cut the word "Sorry" and the rest of the sentiment was punched with the Classic Label Punch.
Of course all those bulb shapes make perfect turkey feathers! I used a variety of punches to create "Tom". Download Turkey Punch Art Card instruction sheet.
And finally, a Christmas card. I've always liked the purity of clear lights at Christmas so instead of stamping and/or punching out colored lights, I decided to use Window Sheet to create clear glass lights strung across with Silver Metallic Thread. The sentiment, from the Making Christmas Bright bundle, was punched with the 2" Circle Punch and the Tranquil Tide layer is the 2-1/4" Circle Punch. The card base is our new Merry Merlot and the paper is from the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper, which will be available in the upcoming Holiday Catalog. So pretty!
Now hop on over to Cheryl Hamilton's blog for more "punched up" ideas.
If you don't currently have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I'd be happy to assist you. Products from the Holiday Catalog are now on sale. If you'd like a catalog sent to you, let me know.
