Thank you for joining me on the September Ink & Share Blog Hop. If you've come over from Sandra Robert's post in Old England, welcome to New England. If you're starting at my blog, thank you so much for stopping by!
You're probably aware our theme this month is "Anything But A Card". I've been doing lots of boxes and the like recently, so I wanted to do something different. I have always admired the pieced frames folks put together, gathering images from all difference sources, so I thought I'd give one a try.
My project base is a 6" x 6" piece of Merry Merlot cardstock. The main color theme for the piece is Merry Merlot, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, and copper - whether the copper be Foil or Shimmer Paint. The color inspiration came from the Victorian angel.
Each component features a bit of copper. This photo really demonstrates how the panels shine. The angel stamp was first inked in Soft Suede Classic Ink then dabbed with Copper Shimmer Paint using a Sponge Dauber before stamping onto Very Vanilla cardstock. The paper behind her is from the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper package. The smoke above the house is paint and the moon, punched with the 1/2" Circle Punch, and the tops of the Merry Merlot stamped bulbs are Copper Foil.
The poinsettia, stamped in Soft Suede Classic Ink and colored with the Merry Merlot Stampin' Write Marker® has little dots of Bright Copper Shimmer Paint in the center that I dabbed on using a toothpick.
There's a solitary Copper Foil die cut tree sitting in front of Soft Suede stamped trees from the Winter Woods Bundle. The Adhesive Sheets make it so easy to glue the tree down!
Pull out your stash of stamps and dies and see what you can come up with. Now click the "Next" button below to go back across the pond to Sandrine Jse's blog and see what 'non-card' project she's come up with. If you get lost along the way you can always click directly on the name of a demonstrator below.
If you are in the United States and don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love to work with you! When using my Hostess Code on a minimum $50 purchase, you earn Mermaid Rewards.
