I'm just loving this Sale-A-Bration Hey, Chick stamp set. It's so whimsical. I recently learned that the chickens with the crazy feathers are called Polish or Poland chickens. They originated in the Netherlands, not in Poland, as their name suggests. You never know what you're going to learn on my blog!
I decided to forgo the usual A2 card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") and use a standard #10 business envelope and make the card really long. The card base measures 9 1/8" x 7 3/4" and is scored at 3 7/8". Stamping the Hardwood background stamp was a little tricky but I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up and the little horizontal strip of Early Espresso camouflages any flaws.
The chicken wire is a stamp from Butterfly Basics and was stamped using StazOn ink onto pieces of Window Sheet. I colored the chickens using the new Watercolor Pencils, which I also love, but apparently so does everyone else as they are currently unavailable to order until February 13.
On the inside I used stamps from the Cake Crazy stamp set and the "feathers" flying around is actually a candle flame from the same set.
